Senior Shopping

ECSD sponsors monthly senior citizen shopping trips. This is a free service to Eliot seniors. Non-residents pay $2.00. pick-up and drop-off is at Baran Place. Trips are limited to six people. You must reserve your space in advance by calling the ECSD (207-451-9334) the Friday before the trip.

Foot Care Clinic

Sponsored by York Hospital, this clinic provides seniors with lower leg and foot massages, foot inspections, toenail care and a foot soak in warm water. Appointments fill up quickly. Call (207) 451-9334 to make an appointment.

Senior Pot Luck Lunch

Potluck lunches are held on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Baran Place Rec. Room. Bring your favorite dish to share. Please sign up on the sheet located in the Baran Place lobby or call the ECSD office.

Eliot Senior Citizens Monthly Meetings

The Eliot Senior Citizens group meets the second Wednesday of every month. Join us to stay informed about senior issues and events in Eliot. Meetings include lunch and guest speaker o entertainment. This program is free to all seniors.

"Senior Appreciation Day" Turkey Dinner

On this day there will be a turkey dinner put on by the Board of Selectmen and the Eliot Town Employees. Please call Barbara at the Town Hall at 439-1813 to make your reservation. The last day to register for this event is Monday, May 12th.

Senior Clambake

Enjoy your choice of lobster or lobster roll served with steamers, corn on the cob, roll, drink and dessert. The Youth Bound Summer Program will once again be on hand to serve your meal to you for this afternoon. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be on sale beginning June 1st. Deadline to purchase tickets is Tuesday, July 15th. Please call for more information.

Senior Citizens Cookout

Come join us for the fourth annual senior BBQ. We'll enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages and desserts. Please call 451-9334 to reserve your space. Please specify your choice of hamburger or hot dog for your meal. Due to increasing costs, this event will have a modest fee this year. Thank you for your understanding!

 

Senior Trips

Seacoast Home, Garden & Flower Show with Acorns Restaurant

If you've had enough of the snow then come to the flower show at the Whittemore Center at UNH in Durham, NH. Looking at all the colors is bound to make you smile. Once we're done at the show we'll travel over to Acorns Restaurant to enjoy their salad, soup and sandwich buffet for lunch.

Haven's Candies Factory Tour & Old Country Buffet

Yummy! Let's go learn how Haven's makes their famous chocolates with this behind the scenes look. When we're done we'll haead out to the retail store and you'll have time to shop for treats to eat later. After we've had enough candy, we'll head over to Old Country Buffet for lunch. Chocolate and lunch...what more do you need?

Eliot Senior Citizens Annual June Bus Trip

Boston Duck Tour and Durgin Park Restaurant at Faneuil Hall

On this annual bus adventure we'll journey down to Boston and take a world famous Duck Tour. After the tour, we'll head over to Faneuil Hall for lunch at Durgin Park Restaurant. (Please note: there are 15 steps to get to the dinning room.) After lunch you'll be able to shop or walk around Faneuil Hall Marketplace on your own. If you chose to sit and watch one of the many performances taking place, that's okay too.

Tom's of Maine Factory Tour and Bull & Claw Restaurant

Have you ever wondered how deodorant is made? Or how in the world the toothpaste gets in the tube? Come with us and find out. The factory tour takes about 45 minutes and is not handicapped accessible. After the tour we'll enjouy a nice lunch at the Bull & Claw Restaurant in Wells. The date for this trip is tentative due to factor scheduling.

Christmas Tree Shop and Dunstan School House Restaurant

Our ever popular trip to the Christmas Tree Shop in Portland is back. We'll shop till we drop then head over to Dunstan School House Restaurant for lunch. On the way home we'll make our traditional stop at a Dollar Tree Store.

Mystic Aquarium, Mohegan Sun & Mystic Village, CT

It's time to relaxand get away. We'll board the minibus in Eliot and head south. Once in CT we will head to the Mystic Aquarium and spend the day with lunch on your own. Tired? It's time to check into the hotel then head to Mohegan Sun for some fun and a dinner buffet. In hte morning we'll enjoy a continental breakfast before going shopping in Mystic Village. Finally...it's home we go. Meals included are dinner on day one and breakfast on day two. There will be snacks and bottled water on the bus. Last day to register for this trip is Monday, June 2nd.

The Golden Rod & York Beach Shopping

We can't let our summer go by without our traditional trip to the Golden Rod. We'll eat lunch, wander the shops and then head back to the Golden Rod for ice cream. Each person is responsible for their own lunch and ice cream.
