KidsPLAY Before & After-School
It is the goal of KidsPLAY to offer a well-rounded program that encourages
kids to have fun, continue the endless process of learning, take healthy
risks and develop socially. Children enrolled in the program will have
an opportunity to:
- Make healthy choices
- Participate in small or large group activities
- Participate in quiet activities, including homework
- Have free play
- Play outside
- Enjoy one on one time with a staff member, if desired
- Develop new relationships
- And more!
KidsPLAY is a licensed childcare center with the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services and operates at the Eliot Elementary School Cafeteria.
Before & After-school care is available Monday through Friday, including early release days, workshop days, and school vacations. It is not provided on snow days. The hours of operation and cost are:
Before-School Care Only:
- 7:00 am - 8:30 am
- $4.00 per day; minimum of two days per week
After-School Care Only:
- 2:50 pm - 6:00 pm
- $16.00 per day; minimum of two days per week
- $18.00 per day; Drop in (24 hours notice) as space allows
Before and After School Care:
- 7:00 am - 8:30 am and 2:50 pm - 6:00 pm
- $18.00 per day
All-Day Care (workshops and vacations):
Early Release Days:
- 11:50 am - 6:00 pm
- $20.00 per day
- ($2 discount for those enrolled in before or after school program)
Please note, KidsPLAY will be closed on all state of Maine legal holidays, the day before and after Thanksgiving, and Winter Break.

February Vacation Activities
Tuesday, February 21 - Bowl-O-Rama & Take It Outside Event: Can you roll a strike on the candlepin lanes? Throw on some bowling shoes and let's find out! Later we'll be off to Fort McClary for some outdoor activities including: Snowshoeing, skating, bonfire, winter games, and many other fun activites. (Hamburgers and hot dogs provided for lunch). Please remember outdoor clothing.
Wednesday, February 22 - Mad Science Chemistry Show & Sledding at Wagon Hill: Get ready for some eruptive excitement with a "Radical Reactions" presentation for all ages. Later, take a cruise down the hill on your sled as we enjoy some winter fun at Wagon Hill. (Bring your sled). Back-up for sledding if no snow: movie at Newington 15.
Thursday, February 23 - Jump On In Bounce House Arena & Chuck E Cheese: Bounce, Bounce, Bounce until your legs drop out! Bounce down the slide or in the house, before you visit your favorite mouse. Then we will take off to Chuck E Cheese's for some pizza, drinks, and gaming! (Price includes 16 tokens per child. Extra tokens may be purchased with own money).
Friday, February 24 - Children's Museum: Portland & Joker's Arcade: Come to Portland with us to explore the Children's Museum which is full of exciting exhibits and fun around every corner. After we will head over to Joker's Arcade for some games and afternoon fun! (Price includes 20 tokens per child & 2 hour gym pass. Extra tokens may be purchased with own money.)

- Trips will run 9:00-4:00, KidsPLAY will be open 7:00-6:00
- Drop Off/Pick Up: EES Cafeteria
- Cost if enrolled in KidsPLAY: $20 per day. Please sign up with Amanda.
- Cost if not enrolled in KidsPlay: $25 per day. (NR $35 per day) Please sign up online or at ECSD.
